How to change name and surname on aadhar card

Aadhar is considered to be an identity proof that is given quite higher priority today. This is being designed and declared by the government of India that marks a major step towards identification process. Apart from that aadhar card is also considered to be a significant substituent which has proved its priority to reduce corruption and making the system more transparent. For that purpose, government today has made it mandatory to link the aadhar with various other ID proofs like those of bank accounts, voter ID and PAN cards.
It does happen that some time there are mistakes made while writing names and surnames on aadhar cards. Apart from that woman in India make a change to their surname after getting married this is a priority of the culture. For the reason, it is necessary to make changes in the aadhar card when they are to be issued. Other than that, there are even a lot of mistakes made by the people who are in charge of these aadhar card making and these are made on the large database of UIDAI. Now what is this UIDAI, so for a better knowledge this UIDAI is the large database and sometimes there is mismatch of the user’s data.

How to Update/Change Name or surname In Aadhar Card 

To update your name and surname on the aadhar card is not difficult. For that one need to follow the updated aadhar details on the self -service update portal online and need to provide with all information and upload documents by following the steps.
  • at first, go to the aadhar self- service update portal or can click on https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/update
  • Then enter the 12 digit aadhar number after which you can press enter to get the one time password to get registered your mobile number.
  • Now you are going to receive an OTP which you need to enter on the login page.
  • After logging in you are going to see 5 options to update different details. these are like
  • name
  • date of birth
  • gender
  • address
  • mobile number
  • Next, you can check on the name box where you can update your name and then press enter.
  • Now move to the next page and there you have to enter your correct details like that of name and surname to update the new aadhar card.
  • At the last step, you need to upload the scanned color copy of your documents. This is going to stand on as a government proof which can be like those of driving license, PAN card ,and many others.
  • After that, you need to select the agency from where you want your details to get updated.

Post registration process

With the post- registration process, there is a URN number on your registered mobile number. This is one of the important numbers that you are supposed to use. The number is potentially used for checking aadhar update status and then you can check this URN number as a kind of reference to check your aadhar update status online and you can track your update aadhar card.
